Energy & Metabolism

Your metabolism is your body’s process of converting sugar and fat for energy through key chemical processes. When you have an optimal metabolism, your body is of optimal weight and provides adequate energy without you feeling sluggish. When your metabolism is dysfunctional, you may experience fluctuations in weight and drowsiness and decrease in overall vitality.

HbA1c & Fasting Insulin –Chief source of energy for the body which if elevated slows down fat loss and is also a risk for diabetes

Cholesterol & Lipids – An essential fat that serves many vital functions such as energy creation and metabolism.  It is the principal building block of many of our hormones including estrogen, testosterone etc and also plays a vital role in Vit D production.

Thyroid Function – Overall measure of thyroid stimulation affecting metabolism, energy, weight and temperature control

Insulin Resistance

Beta Cell Function
– Measures the ability of pancreatic beta cells to produce insulin.
– Key indicator of pancreatic health and functionality.
– Essential for understanding the body’s insulin production capacity.

Insulin Sensitivity
– Assesses how effectively the body’s cells respond to insulin.
– Critical for identifying potential insulin resistance.
– Helps in evaluating the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and other metabolic disorders.

HOMA-IR Index
– Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance.
– Combines fasting blood glucose and insulin levels to estimate insulin resistance.
– Widely used and validated marker for assessing metabolic health.

Sex Hormones

Testosterone is a hormone important for both men and women that regulates your sex drive (libido), muscle mass, fertility, and mood.

FSH is produced in the pituitary gland and is essential for production of eggs by the ovaries.

DHEAS is a precursor hormone that coverts into testosterone. Low levels could contribute to low libido

Cortisol have an essential role in regulating stress, the metabolism and the body’s immune response

SHBG Sex Hormone Binding Globulin is a protein that’s made in the liver and attaches itself to sex hormones, primarily Testosterone, and removes it from direct utilisation in the body

Estradiol  it’s vital to maintain an optimised ratio of Testosterone and Estrogen for female health. Symptoms like fatigue, excess fat around your waist and belly, bone loss, lack of sex drive, anxiety, irritability, and depression are when your body is not producing enough Estrogen

Progesterone Its main role is to prepare the body for and support a pregnancy. It is produced in increasing amounts in the second half of the menstrual cycle. Progesterone is normally tested on day 21 of your menstrual cycle to assess whether ovulation has taken place.

FSH , LH stimulates the menstrual cycle and peaks before ovulation

Prolactin stimulates sex drive and abnormal levels interfere with lack of energy, ED and fertility problems

Essential Vitamins

Optimal levels of Vitamins (A, E, K, D, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12) plays a very important role in strengthening your immune systems and cell repair.

Essential Minerals

Magnesium & Calcium keeps the immune system strong, helps heal wounds, and supports sex drive.

Iron Status

Iron is needed by the immune system and the body uses the free radical action of iron to attack some pathogens. Iron helps the immune system in another way by enhancing the ability of white blood cells to engulf and kill bacteria.

Ferritin is Oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood is essential for endurance exercise as well as for normal function of the nervous, behavioural, and immune systems.

Inflammation

Creatine Kinase / CRP / Hs-CRP / Homocysteine helps to diagnose conditions associated with acute and chronic inflammation including infections and autoimmune disorders. Inflammation accelerates ageing and decreases vitality

Proteins

Albumin/Globulin/Total Protein Main carrier proteins in the blood and binds to key substances such as free fatty acids, testosterone and essential nutrient

Who is this test for ?

The test is designed for testing a wide range of health markers and is highly recommended for women above the age of 30.

  • Optimising for Total health and Vitality
  • Monitoring for PCOS, Fertility, Pre-Post menopause, Menstrual problems
  • Diagnosing root cause of sexual dysfunction such as low sex drive

What are the main female hormone tests?

FSH Test

Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is a hormone, made by the pituitary gland,  that plays an important role in sexual development and functioning. In females, it helps control the menstrual cycle and egg production. FSH levels are tested on day 2 or 3 of the menstrual cycle to determine an individual’s ovarian function and evaluate egg quality. High levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in the blood could increase the risk of infertility. FSH test thus helps in finding the cause of infertility, inspecting ovarian health, finding the cause for irregular or stopped menstrual cycle and confirm the start of menopause.

LH Test

Luteinizing hormone, made by the pituitary gland, works along with the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) to aid sexual development and function. It stimulates the ovaries to release an egg and initialises the process of progesterone production. Progesterone in turn prepares the uterus by building the uterine lining to nurture the fertilized egg. An LH surge (increased LH production) thus occurs in women just before ovulation. LH test helps in finding the cause for infertility, stipulating the start of ovulation, find the reason for irregular or stopped menstrual cycle and in the confirmation for initiation of menopause.

Prolactin Test

Prolactin, made by the pituitary gland, is responsible for the increase in breast size and in the production of breast milk during pregnancy in women. High prolactin levels are therefore found in new mothers and non-pregnant and men generally have low levels of prolactin in their blood sample. A prolactin test is done to diagnose tumors in the pituitary gland and find causes for irregularities in the menstrual cycle and infertility in women.
